It does not change the figures. Specifications on product pages are the specifications the listing states, restated in our own words, and where a listing states nothing the page says so rather than filling the gap. A figure that bent toward a commission would stop being worth publishing, which is a practical argument rather than a moral one.

It does not create test results. This site runs no tests and makes no hands-on claims about any product, and no commission would produce one. The about page sets that out in full.

It does not change compatibility statements. The garage opener model pages report which listings name which model numbers and stop there. No commission makes a seller claim into a manufacturer statement, and none of those pages will tell you a part is accepted by your opener.

A static reference page cannot track a price that changes daily, and a stale price is worse than none: it sends you to a page expecting one number and showing another. The same goes for star ratings, which move and which say more about fulfilment than about whether a bit fits a recess.

So the ranking on each category page is built on stated specifications and on the one job that category exists to do. Where a rank or a badge rests on arithmetic, such as stated load per square foot or the allowance a stated accuracy grade works out to, that arithmetic is shown on the page so you can disagree with it.
